The "Neighborhood Grill & Bar" is what Applebee's calls itself and rightly so. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed, and the food is quite tasty. There's something for every appetite: salads, appetizers, burgers, fajitas, low-fat entrees, and their signature riblet platter (over one pound of hickory-roasted rib tips in a spicy barbecue sauce), plus a bar. Whether you're famished or thirsty, it's a great place for a complete meal, a quick bite or a few drinks. Open from 11 a.m.-1a.m. (midnight on Sun.), with food service until one hour before closing. Try the brunch on Sat. and Sun. from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Five locations: one block from the airport at 1766 Airway Blvd., 915-771-7630; the west side at 5800 N. Mesa, just south of Sunland Park Drive, 915-833-8899; Yarbrough and I-10, 915-598-7006; and 4700 Transmountain Road, 915-751-3324; east side at 1985 George Dieter, 915-590-6411.
